What does expectant and parenting youth mean?

Expectant and parenting youth are young people who are pregnant, have a pregnant partner, or who have recently become a parent or primary caregiver to a child

Becoming a parent is life-changing

This life-changing journey is an exciting experience filled with love, joy, happiness, and growth. It can also be a time where emotions, stress and anxiety can feel overwhelming. There are so many changes that come with pregnancy, childbirth, and caring for a newborn and young child. You don't have to navigate these changes alone.

Seek out support from your family and loved ones. If needed, seek out support from your community or from a healthcare professional.

Taking care of your well-being and mental health is important and benefits you AND your baby.

You are not alone.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact the 988 Lifeline.

Free, confidential support is available 24/7.
